Cedar Creek Lake is one of the largest lakes in Texas, covering more than 32,000 acres with over 320 miles of shoreline. It’s known for bass, crappie, catfish, and white bass fishing, along with boating, swimming, and some genuinely good sunsets. The lake is just minutes from the park — close enough that you can be on the water before your coffee gets cold.
Canton, TX
Canton is best known as the home of First Monday Trade Days, one of the largest outdoor flea markets in the country. It draws crowds from across Texas and beyond, with vendors covering everything from antiques and collectibles to food, livestock, and handmade goods. It’s about 30 miles north on US-175 — an easy day trip any time of year.

It’s home to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, the East Texas Arboretum, and a walkable downtown square with local shops and restaurants. About 18 miles southeast on US-175, it’s your closest go-to for anything you need beyond the lake.
